6 Things You Probably Didn’t Know About Sex

You studied Sex Education in school, have watched (and then re-watched) every single episode of Sex and the City and have garnered a lot of hands on experience to have a basic understanding of sex and lust. But if you think that you already know ALL there is to know about sex, think again!

Sex is such a vast subject. Yes, you do learn a lot more by frequent practice, which is such a great incentive 😉 However, there is still a lot more to learn!

spice up your sex life

If you think you don’t know enough about sex because it is a rather vast subject, here are 6 things about sex and lust that might surprise you!

With that in mind, I have put together some sex secrets that your sex education teacher probably missed out on. So here is an entertaining read for all those who have a thirst for knowledge….especially when it comes to more knowledge on the subject of ‘sex’.

1. Your Libido Changes During Your Cycle

Now this one isn’t all that big a surprise. Most women do notice an increased libido mid-way through their menstrual cycle. Reason – that’s the time you ovulate! The human body is wired to want to procreate, and your testosterone levels peak when you ovulate. That’s why you want to have sex a lot more often right in the middle of your cycle, which is also the time when you are most likely to conceive.

However, it’s not really a hard and fast rule. For some women, sexual desire is at an all time high right before or after their period. The point here is – listen to your body and have sex whenever you crave it because that means you’ll enjoy it a whole lot more!

2. It Is Possible To Break A Penis

No, a penis cannot fracture because it doesn’t contain any bones. However, a ‘penile fracture’ is a severe stress injury, caused when an erect penis bends too much and the tunica albuginea (a spongy tissue found at the core of the penis) tears.

Sexual acrobatics are the most common culprits, so make sure that you are always careful even when you get kinky.

3. Even The Clitoris Has A Hot Spot

You think clitoral stimulation is beyond wonderful. Now, here I am telling you that it CAN get even better!

According to Vera and Steve Bodansky, who have together co-authored the book ‘Extended Massive Orgasm: How You Can Give and Receive Intense Sexual Pleasure’, the upper left quadrant of the clitoral head is a lot more sensitive and responsive to stimuli. If you are looking for THE MOST pleasurable spot to touch, this is the one!

4. Fat Men Can Last Longer In Bed

Say whattt???!!!!  Sounds hard to believe, doesn’t it? Truth be told, sexual health and obesity have a complicated relationship. On one hand, obese men are more likely to suffer from erectile dysfunction. On the other hand, men with more fat percentage in their body can last in bed for an average of 7.3 minutes, which is a lot more as compared to their slimmer counterparts who average at 1.8 minutes only!

Scientists believe that the most likely reason is the sex hormone called Estradiol, which is stored in excess fat and delays an orgasm for a more gratifying sexual release.

5. Majority Of Women Cannot Orgasm With Penetration Alone

If you don’t orgasm every single time you have vaginal sex, don’t start thinking there is something wrong with you. This is a common problem with a majority of women worldwide!

Women need the clitoris engaged for a more fulfilling sexual experience. After all, the clitoris has been made for pleasure! During sex, stimulate your clit with a toy or your finger, or get your partner to do it for you.

6. Sex Makes You Look And Feel Better

Ok, so everyone feels great after sex. Where is the surprise in that, right? However, did you know that having sex regularly makes you look a lot sexier? Yes, you heard that right!

During sex, your estrogen levels are twice as high, which means your hair gets shinier, your skin softer and you also get a soft, natural glow. Think of sex as the ultimate beauty treatment and get it as often as you can! Another bonus point – sex is a great stress buster and can lower blood pressure levels, while it also boost production of immunoglobulin A which an antibody that helps us fight infections.

As humans, we enjoy sex and use it for pleasure rather than just thinking of it as means for procreation. In fact, many scientists argue that humans and dolphins are the only two mammals in the Animal Kingdom who have sex for pleasure! My Advice – Don’t take this gift for granted.
